Group Help
What is the Group Help Fund?
SGA understands that unexpected costs, emergencies and last minute snafus can prevent an organization from successfully having a program that will benefit the university community. In an effort to preserve student organization programming in the face of unexpected obstacles, SGA has established an emergency fund which organizations can take advantage of. Group Help grants can provide up to $500 to fund items and costs that are essential to the success of a specific program.
How can my organization apply?
Organizations may apply for Group Help by downloading an application, below, and submitting it in hard copy at least 5 business days prior to the event. Applications should be submitted to the SGA office (0209J Stamp Student Union) during normal business hours. Due to the understanding that requests for Group Help are time sensitive, applications are evaluated within 24-72 hours of their receipt.
Please remember that your organization is only eligible to apply if it is recognized by Campus Programs and the SGA, and has not been previously funded above the $500 Group Help cap (per semester). For any questions, please do not hesitate to contact David Berlin, the VP of Financial Affairs at umdvpfinance@gmail.com.

Co-Sponsorship Grants
SGA is also offering co-sponsorship grants where groups can apply for an additional $250 per group, if more than one group is putting on an event.
The application works similarly to the Group Help application and can be found at http://umdsgafinance.weebly.com/index.html.
Please contact David Berlin, the VP of Financial Affairs at umdvpfinance@gmail.com.

Legislative Reserves
If you are having an event that SGA would want to co-sponsor, have a legislator write and act co-sponsoring your program.
Contact Carson McDonald, Speaker of the Legislature at carson.mcdonald.engineering@gmail.com or you can contact any legislator you think may be interested.
